You can use a beard straightener every day but slowly work your way up. Daily heat styling is not suitable for everyone. It depends on how your beard responds to heat and your hair type.

Start with a low temperature (around 250°F) and observe your beard’s response. For best results, we recommend using your beard straightener a few times per week. Using a beard straightener every day might strip the beard of its natural oils which can make it brittle. This may cause split ends and breakage. But we do have many customers using heated brushes daily and maintaining a healthy beard.

Avoid using high temperatures (380°F+) for extended periods (5 minutes or more). Also, use a heat protectant spray on your beard before using a straightener.

Yes, we recommend using the Aberlite Heat Shield for higher temperatures (380°F) or when you’re using the straightener for more than 5 minutes. It’s an Argan-oil-based heat protectant. The reason we use Argan oil as a base is due to its high smoke point of 220 °C (420 °F). Its moisture retention properties prevent your beard from drying out during styling.

The vitamins and minerals found in the oil help protect hair against potential damage. It also reduces friction against the heated brush and the hair which further prevents damage.

If you notice steam or smoke rising from your beard during use, it may be because your beard is not completely dry or you've applied a beard product like a heat protectant spray, oil, or balm. This is a normal occurrence during usage if your beard is dry. We strongly advise you not to use a beard straightener on a soaking beard. However, it's safe to apply a water-based mist, like our Aberlite Beard Mist, to slightly dampen your beard before straightening it for better results.

Technically yes, but you need a beard of at least 0.5 inches or longer to have any noticeable effect. If you prefer a beard drier than your towel can get, a heated brush will help with that.

Absolutely. But there are a few differences to keep in mind.

1. A heated brush can be used at any time. A blowdryer requires wet hair for styling.
2. A heated brush is much more effective at handling a curly beard. The brush can pass through sections of curly hair more efficiently than a brush and blow dryer.
3. Dense, wavy beards may take a long time to straighten. And you’ll need to use heat for a longer time which can risk heat damage. A heated brush can do the same job in seconds.
4. Some beards relent to their wild nature shortly after the blow dryer and brush method. A heated brush offers lasting straightness.
5. Most blow dryers are noisy. Our heated brushes produce nearly inaudible sound.
6. A heated brush offers greater temperature control. Our Go 2 offers eight settings ranging from 250°F to 400°F, while the Pro has ten heat settings from 210°F to 430°F. This allows for uniform heating and less heat damage.
7. High-quality beard straighteners are pricier. But you get what you pay for. Heating technology found in cheaper heated brushes can result in damage to your beard.

We strongly advise you not to use a beard straightener on a soaking beard. First, our straightener isn’t waterproof. More importantly, you run the risk of damaging your beard. Consider dampening your beard with a water-based mist, like our Aberlite Beard Mist, if you prefer moisture during the process. Also, use a heat protectant when operating at higher temperatures (380°F) to reduce heat damage.

The Straightener is not waterproof, so please do not immerse the product in water, as water can get inside the brush and damage the components. Please make sure to unplug the straightener before cleaning.

Method 1 (the most efficient): Use an Aberlite Straightener Cleaning Kit.

Simply spray the Tool Cleaner onto the bristles and use Cleaning Brush to brush away any residue. After cleaning, wait for 10 minutes before powering it on again.

Method 2: Use a wet cloth and soap for cleaning. You can also use disinfecting wipes.

Method 3: Dip cotton swabs into a small cap of rubbing alcohol and rub between the teeth of the straightener as needed. Do not clean with harsh chemicals or abrasive scrubs. After cleaning, allow it to air dry or use a soft cloth or paper towel to absorb any moisture. Store it in a dry area.
